The past 12 months in Australia has seen widespread bush fires, extended periods of low to no rainfall and by far the greatest unnamed threat that we haven’t seen in the media yet is the management drought. This drought has been going on for well over 200 years now and its finally getting noticed but still invisible to some. Very easily seen to the trained eye, but the issue no one wants to talk about.
I’ve designed this 3 day Practicum to allow you to be involved in hands on strategies to increase soil hydration, build soil fertility and ground cover that underpin effective rainfall utilisation. Making every drop that lands on your property effective and used where it falls.
This workshop will look at all the best regenerative land practices from around the world and for most Australia that deal with increasing the ability of water getting back into the soil where it belongs. Creating landscape sponges that hold and filter water as it passes through your landscape.

This course will open you up to a range of tools that you can apply once you have the ability to read the landscape and see problems and not just treat the symptoms. Its not a government funded course for a very good reason. In my time on the land, government organisations are not dynamic enough and are too lineal in there approach look at natures systems in wholes, rather policy is reductionist approach. That part that part is broken then we just fix that part, or that weed is causing a problem lets get rid of it.
Regenerative landscapes looks at designing landscape from pattern (Pattern of the landscape) to detail (The parts of the whole) and how they function in a dynamic landscape system.
This practium is hands on so come prepared to get involved. Over the 3 days we will cover: Assessing landscape, design, surveying your land is a very simple way, appropriate use of tools ( Soft landscape works verses Hard landscape options), working with earth movers, insights into how a landscape functions and how to asses that, water in the landscape and how to attract it into your soil and the application of fertility building trees into a regenerative landscape.
The Practicum will be run in Autumn 2020 – Thursday 21st May to Saturday 23rd May – Course hours: 9.30am to 3.30pm over the 3 days.

– 5th May 2020 at 8am – Bookings CLOSE. This is the cut off date to finalise your booking and payment in full. If we don’t receive your payment in full by this date, your booking will be moved back to the waiting list.
– 6th May 2020 – This will be course confirmation date. You will be informed via email that the numbers we have committed for the course will go ahead.This 3 day practicum is dependant on numbers to run and capped at 30 people.
